Tried using expressvpn for months with ubuntu, constant headaches and disconnects. Switched to mullvad with wireguard and it's been rock solid for 2+ years now. Their app isn't fancy but it WORKS which is all that matters. Bonus: they accept cash payments if you're serious about privacy
