If low light is a priority, check the exit pupil number, not just the magnification. It's just objective lens divided by mag: 8x42 gives you 5.25mm which your eye can actually use at dusk. crank up to 10x42 and it drops to 4.2mm. Compact binos people love for BOBs often have terrible exit pupils for exactly when you'd need them most
