Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 lands October 30 on Paramount+

Dexter Morgan is back, and this time he's got more than just a body count to worry about. Paramount+ has confirmed that Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premieres on October 30, 2026 — a Halloween-weekend drop that also marks 20 years since the original series debuted on Showtime in October 2006. The first season pulled in 4.4 million viewers, according to Variety, making a second run an easy call.

The setup

Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter, still navigating New York City and still teaching his son Harrison how to manage the family's dark passenger — including how not to get caught. Season 2 ups the stakes: Harrison joins the NYPD, giving him the same law-enforcement cover his grandfather and father both used. The show is leaning into the 20-year passage of time; iHorror notes that Hall's Dexter now sports reading glasses, a deliberate nod to the character aging in real time.

The new season pits Dexter against two killers working opposite ends of their careers. Dan Stevens plays a killer known as the Five Borough Killer, while Brian Cox takes on the role of the New York Ripper. Uma Thurman, Krysten Ritter, Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us Season 2), and James Remar are also in the cast. Clyde Phillips, showrunner for the original series' first four seasons and Dexter: New Blood, is back as executive producer.

The season runs 10 episodes with a weekly rollout continuing through December.
